The Sasha Bikoff collection for S. Harris debuts with a clear directive: to infuse interiors with Sasha's signature unapologetic style, deeply rooted in the legacies of design greats.
The new fabrics, wallcovering, and trimmings effortlessly embody the spirit of both brands, fusing Bikoff’s fearless maximalism with the reinvention of tradition from S. Harris. The result is a kaleidoscope of texture and pattern, where classic motifs meet fearless color and youthful exuberance.
“There is a great sense of whimsy, love for color, and fashion,” Bikoff said. “It's this idea of dressing a room in the way that we would dress ourselves.”
The collection is a tour of fashion history with a distinctly modern guide. Bikoff's passion for haute couture, combined with her talent for creating spaces that spark emotion, has wrought a visual playground as well as a celebration of the power of design to tell a story.
The motifs in the assortment echo across three color stories: dazzling gold and ochre in Soleil; shocking pink to lilac in Rosetta; and charged blues and emerald in Grotto. The colors range from soft to bright and bring a broad range of rich, luxurious textures to life.
Bikoff's inspiration draws heavily from the personalities and lifestyles of the Manhattan socialites of the glamorous, gilded 1980s. Pieces like Capote Check, a decadent silk taffeta in spellbinding hues, are an homage to the refined-yet-rebellious spirit of the age. In French Kiss, fringe-cut lips are set on a neutral cotton ground, bringing a playful pop of fashion.
The Beating Hearts trim, with its interlocking heart design now synonymous with Sasha Bikoff and her oft-editorialized rug design of the same name, enlivens the collection with youthful enthusiasm, playful charm, and a certain optimistic innocence.
So much of the vibrancy of the collection springs from Sasha’s deeply researched references. Rue Cambon, a juicy, multicolored raw silk tweed, offers dimensional sheen in prismatic colors in a Chanel-inspired design. The Zouzou fabric, a mod, flower-power cut velvet, brings a playful, retro touch in grounded hues.
The Slim checkerboard woven pays tribute to the geometry of pop art of the era. The Marella eyelet evokes the elegance and grace of Marella Agnelli, a celebrated style icon and known as Truman Capote’s "Last Swan.”
The fabrics are joined by the wallcovering Vittoria, a sisal design beaded and embroidered with starbursts for a nod to a different kind of star, as well as a deep set of trimmings that refuse to be sidelined. Designs feature patinated chain and danging coins as well as rainbow fringe and a treasure trove of pearls.
“This collection is an invitation to embrace the bold, the beautiful, and the unexpected,” said Jodi Finer, Chief Brand Officer and S. Harris Creative Director. “We hope it inspires designers to infuse spaces with the same fearless creativity and timeless style that drives both Sasha Bikoff and the S. Harris brand.”
