SustainableNewYear

The start of something new can bring a range of ideas and emotions to the forefront. It can be exciting and challenging to set new intentions or even consider what you'd like to bring into a new year. Whether you are opting into 2022 or on the contrary, wondering how you will survive, being ok with where you are now is what matters. This year may or may not change your life in positive ways. We like the idea of 2022 bringing something entirely new and unexpected, but it may be a year that requires more strength than you feel you have at the moment and thats ok too.

No matter what this year holds in store for you, I want to encourage you that any experience can be a point for acceptance and growth. Rather than thinking that you must set goals for this year, perhaps instead take inventory from the past year. What was one thing you focused on? What action could you take that could bring something you started into the new year?

We don't have to know exactly how we're going to make a difference in a year. Sometimes, it's the small things that lead us to something big. Set an intention to take micro steps like meditating for ten minutes, walking with someone who energizes you, or even turning your phone off for part of the weekend. These small actions don't seem like big goals, but they may be just what you need to make this year richer, fuller, and more peaceful.

For me and my family, one of our intentions is to support brands that cultivate joy and mindful craftsmanship. Our purchases can make a positive impact on the world-socially, economically, and environmentally. It's less about "green," and more about mindfully supporting brands that focus on "win-wins" for all.

Below you'll find a compilation of products that I've used and will continue to support as the year unfolds. They meet my criteria of sustainability and also have great stories behind them. I hope you're inspired both to buy responsibly and focus less on goals and more on accepting whatever stage of growth you're in this year. Here's to 2022!
