Our team was thrilled to be back in Milan for Salone del Mobile and Milan Design Week after being away for far too long. All throughout the Italian metropolis, artists and brands came out in full force to celebrate their shared love of design. From sun-drenched salons and terrazzo floors to the peeling paint layers and urban jungle of an abandoned military hospital, Milan was transformed into a city-wide homage to creativity and imagination.

By way of paper butterflies, photographs, drawings, and cut steel and bronze furniture, “Lucia Eames: Seeing with the Heart” let us inside the mind of the late Lucia Eames, whose creative oeuvre continued the legacy of her parents, Charles and Ray Eames.

Pop artist Bradley Theodore collaborated with Artemest and a team of Italian artisans to marry his colorfully saturated skulls with their ancient Murano glass-blowing techniques.

Alcova turned every nook and cranny of a 1931 compound comprising lushly vegetated barracks and hospital rooms into a series of installations including works by Sabine Marcelis and OMA for SolidNature, and Kickie Chudikova, whose furniture and lighting installation can be seen at the top of this page, captured by Mattia Parodi via Vogue.
Between them, a common thread emerged in the form of a dreamy color palette: light jade, creamy ivory, sunny yellows, bubble gum pinks, and bright shades of blue.
