When cultivating the mood around this holiday season, we decided to look to high-fashion and conceptual art to guide our palette and get us dreaming big for next year. Turning to the inkier side of holiday hues, we pulled together some of our deepest jewel tones for inspiration.
Velvet raspberries and plums collide with deep indigos and emerald greens to create a royal colorstory. French fashion designer Barbara Bui’s latest collection sets the tone for a wintry strut in style, and the work of Sarah Poniatowski and Australia's Imperial Hotel Erskineville follow suit—each echoing the romantic palette of the season.
Next, is our roundup of showstopping neutrals. Using an iconic installation shot of Mario Botta’s work as the main palette cleanser, the supporting textiles flaunt sheen and texture. Who’s ready to bring back some glitz and glam? (We certainly are!).
Bold ambitions are called to attention in our last holiday moodboard, which fearlessly combines bright yellows, vibrant pinks, ruby reds, and kelly greens. Assisting with this fizz of holiday sparkle is an Olafur Eliasson exhibit, Edie Parker pipes, and the work of photographer Elena Iv-skaya.
